Disney Parks Art Journaling - A Creative Way to Document Disney Memories

A few years ago, I'm not entirely sure how, Art Journaling the Magic's Disneyland centric online course called "A Walk in the Park" crossed my path. Led by Tangie Baxter, A Walk in the Park was offering a multi-week online watercoloring and sketching course for all artistic levels retracing Walt Disney's walk through Disneyland and our personal memories from around the park.  I love drawing, maybe not too well, and I was growing fond of watercoloring, I also am in love with Disneyland, so this checked all the boxes. I'm also drawn to the idea of documenting our experiences and THIS was a new fantastic way for me to do just that. Being drawn in by the introductory video and Tangie's amazing art, I knew that I had to join and be part of this budding community. Her site revealed that she had also held live, in person retreats at Disneyland and was a huge Disney fan as well. Yes to all of this!

That's From Disneyland! - Disneyland Memorabilia Auction Pop-Up

Hello! I'm back! I'm back with a fresh outlook on blogging and being part of the Disney Parks community. While my "mission statement" is still in the works, I'm excited to share my Disney Park experiences and views. Hopefully something new and fresh to you or at the very least unique and interesting.

To welcome myself back to this little blog, I recently visited the That's From Disneyland Pop-Up exhibit and auction in Sherman Oaks, Ca. A FREE exhibit that is a "family-friendly, interactive museum that celebrates the unique history and artistry of Disney theme parks" hosted by Van Eaton Galleies with the entire collection belonging to Richard Kraft.

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival 2016

For the first time in forever (not the song), Disney California Adventure is hosting the Food & Wine festival and I couldn't be more thrilled! Having not attended the initial run the first few years it was hosted, I knew this was going to be a must and planned several weekend visits. Currently running from April 1st - May 1st and mainly on the weekends, this is going to be a big draw to the park.

Haunted Mansion Wreath

One of my FAVORITE blogs is EPBOT! Last year she created a gorgeous Haunted Mansion inspired wreath. I'd stored it in my memory bank and wanted to create my own this year. Using various craft store coupons, items I had, and trips to the Dollar Tree out little wreath was created. It came in a little more expensive than I anticipated but I'm confident I can pull it off again at a WAY cheaper cost.

Spooky People Love Disney, too!

Another year of wonderful amazing Horror Conventions has come through and all of them had some amazing and wonderful Disney goodies to see. Scare LA had a Hatbox Ghost Panel, as well as multiple vendors with their wonderful Disney creations! Monsterpalooza and Son of Monsterpalooza also had some wonderful tributes and vendors there as well. With Hollow Market this month and tons of Halloween Haunted Houses and attractions, there is still so much more to come. It's really no surprise that spooky-stuff loving people, love Disney and it really shows!

Halloween Bark

Happy October! There is usually a big build up to this month in our little casita and now it's finally here. To celebrate, I made Halloween sprinkle bark! I used the same technique as the cake bark but didn't add cake mix. I added creepy Halloween sprinkles, but you can use this recipe and add Halloween candy too! It's SUPER easy to make and very delicious.

Halloween Tree Cake

This past week a new exciting treat popped up at the Grand Californian, an edible Halloween tree. It's beautiful, tall, and beautifully detailed with pumpkins, bats, leaves, an owl, and iconic spooky Disney items such as Dr. Facillier's mask, the Poison apple, pumpkin Jack and more.
